Hints for the clue that begins, “In a bygone time…”

1st part

When you find the paragraph of copy about a pirate crew, you’ll use a Line/Word/Letter cipher to solve it. The first number in each three number set references the line in the paragraph (there are four lines). The second number in the set references the word in the line (for instance, the second word in the first line is the word, “rogues”). The third number in the set references the letter in the word (for instance, the 4th letter in “rogues” is “u”). The first column of number sets spells the first word of the answer (a five-letter word), the second column spells the second word (six letters), and the third column spells the third word (six letters).

2nd part

On the walls of The Market House are a number of antique telephones beneath signs that read, “1890 Party Line.” You’ll need to listen to the conversations on those phones to hear the dollar amount that a certain person makes per week (you should have solved the person’s name in the first half of the clue). Write that number in word form in the boxes at the bottom of the clue.
