Turning freshman orientation into a campus-wide adventure

Give new students a memorable way to explore, connect with, and learn about their new campus through an escape room-style, story-based quest built just for your school.

What is a quest?

A quest is a game played across your college campus that challenges players to explore the campus while solving a mystery. It is a primarily analog experience, with students and/or parents receiving gamepacks of clues that need to be solved in physical locations around your campus… all while following a story born from your university’s history or theme.

A Physical Gamepack

Each gamepack includes paper-based clues, tools, and a link to it’s own online Help Portal.

Place-Based Story

Every quest follows an original story inspired by the history, lore, or theme of your university and its surroundings.

Location-Specific Clues

Clues are built around your unique campus, transforming real spaces into part of an experience that can only happen there.

Transforms orientation into purposeful exploration

The quest guides new students through campus in an engaging way, helping them learn buildings, landmarks, and layout through experience rather than just maps.

Reinforces institutional story and campus identity

Each quest can incorporate campus history, traditions, and values, helping students understand not just where things are, but what the institution stands for.

Creates a shared experience that builds early belonging

Small groups work together to solve the quest, giving students a social starting point that encourages connection during orientation or Week of Welcome… and beyond.

Engages families without adding complex programming

Parents and guests can participate alongside students, offering a meaningful way to experience campus without requiring separate tours or sessions.

Scales to large incoming classes without staff burden

Self-guided play allows hundreds or thousands of students to participate independently, easing pressure on orientation staff and student leaders.

Helps build confidence navigating campus early

By solving clues across key locations, students quickly develop spatial familiarity, reducing first-week anxiety and dependence on staff or volunteers.

How It Works

We start by researching your school’s campus and history, collaborating with you on goals and themes, identifying possible clue locations, and planning the quest footprint.

Research & Planning

We apply that research to story development, potential clue mechanics, prize overlay, and experience review to find the right mix of narrative and gameplay.

Story & Game Design

We test the game internally with our team, then externally with you to gather and apply feedback, ultimately readying the game for production and delivery.

Testing & Production

and the economics?

Institutions purchase finished gamepacks from us at wholesale and choose how to offer them to students and parents.

A Simple Wholesale Model

“The quest gave our incoming students a fun, low-pressure way to explore campus and get comfortable with their new surroundings. We saw students connecting with each other and discovering parts of the university they might not have found on their own.”

The Student/Parent Experience

What will players experience on their quest?

01: Open & Explore

Students and parents receive gamepacks from you, open them, discover the story and clues, then set off to explore your campus and begin solving.

02: Help When Needed

The mobile Help Portal offers locations, hints and answers, validates each solution, and delivers the next piece of the story.

03: Play At Their Pace

There’s no clock and no race. Students and/or parents can complete their quest all at once (typically takes 2 hours) or spread the adventure across their time on campus.

04: Take Home The Story

Every quest ends with a keepsake pulled from the story itself, giving students and parents a meaningful reminder of the experience.
